Thursday Update
Today was another great day...We started the day spreading out into several of the various homes. After lunch and our team time, a small group headed back over to complete packing and moving the preschool to its new location, while the rest stayed at Shepherd's Field to do arts and outdoor activities with the older children. The arts included a large banner Dawn had prepared and the children completed with painted handprints...it turned out beautifully.
Jane disappeared for a while this morning, only to reappear with a great personal story. She wandered into the "banner factory" within Shepherd's Field with a banner she was working on...the Chinese ladies were thrilled to see her. They gave her several tips and helped her with her project. She helped them with their English, and they taught her some Chinese. She even sang for them, at their request. She had a morning to remember!
This evening was the overall team highlight. We bought pizza for the English staff...that was their request...it is expensive here and difficult to get. We managed to have the pizzas brought from Beijing, had a great meal together, shared a word from scripture, and then prayed for each one of them individually after they shared their specific requests. This seemed to be an incredible encouragement to each of them serving here...it was a great privilege to serve them in this way.
Everyone is still healthy and this is proving to be a spiritually significant trip for everyone involved. Thanks for your continued prayers.
