Wednesday Morning

Good morning from India. It is 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, which makes it 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening where I live and 6:30 p.m. in Memphis. It seems that each time I look at my watch I find myself doing the mental gymnastics of time conversion to calculate what time it is where my family lives. I then try to picture what they are probably doing at that very moment. I picture there faces and what thoughts they may have at the time. I try to imagine what kind of day they are beginning or what kind of day they are ending. When I do this it brings a closeness that distance cannot separate. It affords me the opportunity to then express my concerns and hopes for each of them in prayer to the One who makes our unity complete - our heavenly Father.

As I consider this unity provided by my heavenly Father with my family, I am also reminded of a connection I have with another family - the family of believers that make up the body of Christ. I know that even though I am in India, there are many Christian brothers and sisters that are praying for the will of God to permeate in all that we are doing. Many of those praying are people I have never met. Yet, I am connected to them through the unity afforded each of us through our Savior Jesus Christ.

Our team is doing a great job in their teaching responsibilities. You would be very impressed with the way they have handled themselves as well as the way they have upheld their commission to come to India and support these pastors through encouragement and teachings. Today we go into the inner city to visit several of the ministries here in Bangalore. For some on this trip, it will be an eye-opening experience to a culture that is very foreign to many throughout the world. This will be our first break away from the routine of teaching. It will also be a great opportunity to see the work that God is doing through those who are willing to serve Him in some of the most difficult situations and environments in our world.

We value your prayers for the continuance of God's will for this trip. We are very grateful to have this opportunity that is made possible through Christians like each of you at Christ Church that support endeavors of spreading the gospel throughout the world. Thank you and continue to pray for these faithful men and our families.

May the grace of God bless you,

Truett Nimmons
