Monday Morning in Bangalore

The conference will start in about an hour and all's well here in India.

Arnold and Jamey arrived on Sunday morning after rebooked flights and one missed connection in Mumbai (Bombay). The Mumbai stop included a cab ride between terminals with their luggage on top while they held onto it through the windows...Welcome to India!

Arnold, Jamey, Eric & Kelly spent Sunday evening at the Children's Home and experienced their weekly fasting and prayer service. Experiencing 4 dozen kids worshiping and praying ferverently has already made a huge impact on Jamey in particular since this was his introduction to Christians here.

Matthew & Christopher spent an exhausting day travelling to the next state to the south for the celebration service after 60 young people spent one month evangelizing in the villages in that area. The net result was 1,250 people coming to the final public event on Saturday for followup and discipleship. We attended the team only event, which included church leaders from the area. After 5 hours, we broke for lunch at 2 pm, then continued. The stories, photos, and videos of their work was incredible.

As we drove back through Bangalore about 10:30 Sun PM, we passed 4 different groups worshiping idols in the streets. Each one had a giant idol on a flatbed truck, bright lights, ornaments, fireworks, beating drums and dancing. It makes the hair on the back of my (Matthew) neck stand up and reminds me of the pagan festivals we read about in the old testament. Spiritual darkness is right out in the open here.

On a lighter note, Christopher's 14th B-Day party (on Sat) included a brief message from scripture, several short speaches encouraging him, cake, confetti, dancing, etc...It was a once in a lifetime event for sure.

Thanks for your prayers...everyone is well and ready to begin the conference in a few hours.
