Manila - Final Update

Sunday, June 10:

Today was the day we have been working toward all week: three presentations of "Redemption." We did the program at 7:30 am, 10:00 am, and 5:00 pm. It was such a blessing to do! The Manila choir and band were excited and the crowds were large and responsive. There was a great spirit of joy, praise, and humility as we considered through song, narration, and video the great price that Jesus paid for our salvation and the joy He brings to our lives. Everyone in our Memphis group played some special part, as soloist, band member or trio member. Hal Beckham and Sharon Lucius did a beautiful job of narrating, and when Deborah Barnes sang "Because He Lives", God's glory was all around us. We finished the musicals with the crowd on their feet raising hands, weeping, and shouting as we all sang "You are God Alone." Then Pastor Brent gave a powerful invitation, and at both morning services the altar was filled with people praying to receive Christ. What was especially exciting was that a great many of the people at the altar were visitors, which means new believers.

Sunday night we had many emotional farewells with the members of the Manila choir we have come to love. We ended the night with dinner with the missionaries we all have such respect and love for. They are doing so many things well at Faith Fellowship Church, and we have been richly blessed to spend this time with them. God is doing great things in the Phillipines, and we will all return with a new sense of joy for the great big, loving God we serve and with a stronger desire to be used daily in His plan to reach the world for Jesus.
